All your bulbs are much earlier than mine. I have snowdrops and crocus in flower and daffodils and tulips just on their way up through the soil. That was a great bargain you got on the crocus.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous clump of crocus - I prefer the purples and white rather than yellow unless its one of those little lemon ones. My snowdrops are still hanging on but no sign of any daffs yet.
ReplyDeleteOur tulips are just emerging and being nibbled by presumably slugs. The birds have a go at our yellow crocuses but usual leave enough flower petal around to let us know we at least had some flowers. As Jo says I think your bulbs are ahead of ours too.
ReplyDeleteI love those crocuses "en masse". Much more impressive than when planted in ones and twos. I have some yellow crocuses, so I shall be observing closely to see what the birds think of them!
ReplyDeleteYou got packs of crocus for 25p? I think our local garden centre would rather throw the bulbs away than sell them at that price (more's the pity...)
Your crocus are so pretty...I love the purple color. Yellow would be nice, too, but you do have the yellow daffidils! Can't wait to see photos of the tulips.

ReplyDelete25p Wow - you should have bought the lot and set up a sale! As Martyn said our tulip tips always seem to be nibbled - I was only moaning about it the other day. I always think they won't come to much but they seem to shrug off the nibbles - famous last words!
ReplyDeleteI really love your crocus they are the flower of the moment for me I really like the look of them compared to snowdrops I would be really interested to see how you have used them eg a sort of zoomed out view of the beds they are in. I know its nosey but I'm thinking of idea's for next year!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't the birds that eat our crocus it was pesky field mice! I put what felt like hundreds in once and hardly any came up. When I investigated the remnants showed micey mayhem! :D
