Tomatoes in October

It's well into October and I'm still getting cherry tomatoes daily. The plants seem to be doing well despite the light frosts we've had. I have eight tomato plants grown in an unheated conservatory that faces Southwest. I'm hoping the fruits will continue to ripen into November.

Varieties:
  • Tomato (Red Cherry)
  • Tomato 'Gardener's Delight'
Both varieties were sown indoor from seed in April 2012 and potted on (in a bigger pot) on 17 June 2012. They have remained indoor over the summer.

The only problem is I don't know which plants are Red Cherry and which are Gardener's Delight.


Here's hoping I'm still getting cherry tomatoes in November!

    I'm jealous! My tomatoes are all gone. But then, I have Runner Beans in profusion still...

    Wir haben auch noch Tomaten. Sie stehen im mittlerweile geschlossenen Gewächshaus und werden nicht mehr gegossen. Die Luftfeuchtigkeit ist trotzdem hoch, Fäulnisgefahr ist vorhanden. Die Früchte reifen um diese Jahreszeit langsam. Kürzlich haben wir noch drei Pfund rote Tomaten geerntet. Die meisten waren ebenfalls Kirschtomaten, aber auch rundfrüchtige, Flaschen-, Dattel- und Fleischtomaten waren darunter.

    Don't the cherries look delicious. I wanted fresh tomatoes for my enchiladas tonight and didn't have any. Enjoy yours!

    We still have one or two fruits but the plants are definitely on their last legs.

    You've done really well with your tomatoes. I had to bring all mine indoors on to a windowsill to ripen.

    Your tomato plants still look so healthy and are producing nicely. You should have more right up into November!

    My tomatoes are long gone (all 3 of them) but I've still got a few ripe strawberries left. Same colour as toms, just a very different taste.

    I still have tomatoes ripening in trays but alas no more fresh ones straight from the plant - you have done well.

    I am envious! You have so many more than I do. It has been an awful year for tomatoes. I just have a few last ones hanging from the greenhouse roof, but Leo follows me in there with his pleading eyes and I cannot help myself.
