Spring weather brings Spring flowers... and there are currently lots of bulbs in bloom and flower blossoms on trees. The white and pink coloured flowering cherry trees are beautiful this time of year.
I inherited this tree with the house and I assume it is some type of miniature cherry tree. I've tried to improve the shape of the tree (photo below) but have had only limited success so far. I'm not too sure how to bulk it out or if it's even possible at this stage, but the flowers are nice and I like the tree.
The best way to admire this tree is lying down in the grass looking up! |

Haha! I'm imagining you lying on the grass to take those photos... I have a cherry tree too, an Autumn-flowering one. It is harbouring some sort of pest that attacks its leaves. Every year the fresh young leaves are attacked by something that nibbles masses of circular holes in them, causing them to shrivel and die off. Then the tree produces another flush of leaves, though it is never very vigorous. The foliage looks sparse, even at the best of times. I wish I knew what this pest was, so that I could perhaps treat it. I reckon you could make your one more compact by some severe pruning. Why not try just a couple of branches and see what happens. If successful, you could do the rest of the tree.
ReplyDeleteIs it a weeping cherry, We used to have one but the spread became too wide - it almost took over the garden, Pity the blossom is so short lived. The street trees look fnbtastiuc when they are all in bloom.
ReplyDeleteI can't find this one here. So beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCherry blossom is one of my favourite spring sights. Mine has all gone already, but it looked beautiful for the short time it lasted.
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous and I really like its sprawling nature.
ReplyDeleteThere is some wonderful blossom on that tree, the colour looks really intense.
ReplyDeleteI love the cherry tree! There are so many blooms! Couldn't get more Spring than that!
