Crocus n Bulb Update

A flower bed full of crocus.
Where did all my yellow crocus go?
Bring on the bulbs...

Crocus and Snowdrops continue to flower...

Daffodils are just recently flowering...

Tulips are trying...
Along the driveway. These are in their 2nd year. They will continue to multiply each year. Maybe it's true about the birds eating yellow crocus?

This is where some of the bulbs started; when bought they were reduced to 25p (41 US cents) per pack. Great value!
The 2nd daffodil to flower so far.
Snowdrops (also pictured below left when in flower) have now finished.
Not all the snowdrops have finished - I will hate to see them go!
Tulips emerging and won't be long to flower. Some nibbles on the foliage.

  1. All your bulbs are much earlier than mine. I have snowdrops and crocus in flower and daffodils and tulips just on their way up through the soil. That was a great bargain you got on the crocus.

  2. Gorgeous clump of crocus - I prefer the purples and white rather than yellow unless its one of those little lemon ones. My snowdrops are still hanging on but no sign of any daffs yet.

  3. Our tulips are just emerging and being nibbled by presumably slugs. The birds have a go at our yellow crocuses but usual leave enough flower petal around to let us know we at least had some flowers. As Jo says I think your bulbs are ahead of ours too.

  4. I love those crocuses "en masse". Much more impressive than when planted in ones and twos. I have some yellow crocuses, so I shall be observing closely to see what the birds think of them!
You got packs of crocus for 25p? I think our local garden centre would rather throw the bulbs away than sell them at that price (more's the pity...)

  5. Your crocus are so pretty...I love the purple color. Yellow would be nice, too, but you do have the yellow daffidils! Can't wait to see photos of the tulips.

  6. Love all your early bulbs! My daffodils are blooming but sadly I don't have any crocuses, snowdrops or tulips. I must remember to put them in next fall.

  10. 25p Wow - you should have bought the lot and set up a sale! As Martyn said our tulip tips always seem to be nibbled - I was only moaning about it the other day. I always think they won't come to much but they seem to shrug off the nibbles - famous last words!

  11. I really love your crocus they are the flower of the moment for me I really like the look of them compared to snowdrops I would be really interested to see how you have used them eg a sort of zoomed out view of the beds they are in. I know its nosey but I'm thinking of idea's for next year!

  12. It wasn't the birds that eat our crocus it was pesky field mice! I put what felt like hundreds in once and hardly any came up. When I investigated the remnants showed micey mayhem! :D

  15. Hi Kelli, you have wonderful early spring color with your bulbs. I can't believe you have tulips readying to open! The weathermen tells us here that we might have a chance of a dusting snow tomorrow. I'm in shock. Feb was very cool for us. Cheers, Jenni
