Simply enjoyable weather

A little seasonal arrangement (pictured left) has lasted and lasted. It's simply a plastic  pot with some twine tied around it, and bit of greenery/pine covering the container and pushed into the sides.

It's planted with a few daffodil bulbs and pansies. It also has a few shrub cuttings stuck into it. I've been amazed at how long the pine and shrub branches have lasted considering they are just stuck around the edges of the container (no roots on them). This little seasonal container has been outside since before Christmas and it looks like there will soon be daffodil blooms as well as pansy flowers to keep it going.

I'm afraid I didn't make it. It was bought for £5. A good idea for a low cost container!

Its been a bit colder  lately with some snow.
Perfect weather for walks. Pictured: Cushendall, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
Of course, no snow on the beach, but very cold! Cushendun, County Antrim

  1. It looks ver cold. I can imagine that the sea air can be damp and cold then add wind. We have sun today. I walked downtown to pay some bills, get the mail, and go to the bank. It was a bit windy, but warm and pleasant. Are you ready to garden yet? Yes, and interesting little arrangement. It will be pretty when it blooms.

  3. What a lovely seasonal arrangement. You don't mind paying out for something when it lasts so well. We've got snow here today, the cold weather has finally arrived.

  6. The photo of snow in sunshine (your second photo) makes the scenery look inviting despite the evident cold. I bet it was rather unpleasant on top of the hill in the background, if there was any wind blowing!

  8. Well, maybe in Ireland you see snow as a walking weather, but not here! It has been down below zero F lately, and nobody walks at that temperature!
