1st Snow

Our first Winter snow arrived! Friday, 18th January it started snowing and over the weekend we had a combination of snow, hail stones, sleet and slush. Mostly sleet and slush! Needless to say, it has been very cold. Curries and hot chocolate went down well this weekend.

Here are a few photos I took over the weekend...

A little rabbit ornament - snow defrosting.
The worst of the snow - Friday evening - photo of the house and the 'blizzard'!

  1. We have had more snow now - started late last night into late this morning. More light ting snow than blizzards but it has mounted up

  2. Love the snowman. We had snow last week but not as much as what fell last night and this morning, in fact, it hasn't stopped snowing at all since last night, though it's only light snow at the moment.

  3. Cute snowman. Snow is good. It brings moisture. We need moisture. While we do enjoy these mild winter days, we will pay for them come spring when the ground is too dry. I missed your post on the potatoes. Is there anyway to keep them from rooting? Hopefully we can remember to plant ours this year.

  4. I think the photo of your house in the blizzard is amazing. And goodness only knows what you were doing out there photographing things in the middle of a snowstorm... We had about 3 inches of snow, possibly more. Our neighbours built an igloo by compressing snow into blocks in a plastic crate!

  5. That is a real great picture of your house in the snow. Nice that you could capture the big snowflakes.

  6. Hi Kelli and hope the weather has improved a bit today, but it did look very pretty. I love the photo of your house and those big snowflakes. Great photo! Also, the snowman is so cute and the little rabbit statue seems to be holding a "snow blanket". Hope your cyclamen doesn't perish! That photo is really good, too.
