Blogger's Bloom Day

It's Blogger's Bloom Day, the 15th of every month.

Here's a snapshot of what's in bloom.

Variety: Malope Excelsior Mixed.
Nicotiana 'evening fragrance' is still going strong. Sedum 'autumn joy' in the background.
Above: Sedum 'autumn joy'. Belowsnapdragon bed with morning glory growing up the tri-pod - still going strong!
 Snapdragon / antirrhinium.
Above: Calendula of some sort? Below Sunflower 'teddy bear' and aster.
Surprisingly, lupin 'russell mix' are still blooming. The late bloomers were grown from seed last year and I planted them into the ground quite late in the summer, thus their late blooms (only now).  (I'm far from an expert). My established lupin plants bloomed much earlier (June).  More information on plants I've grown from seed is on my Seed List page: http://kelliboylesgarden.blogspot.com/p/2011-grow-list.html

  2. Do you by any chance like the colour pink, Kelli??? :) You are producing some great photos these days. Of course the one I like best is the poppy with the hoverfly on it! And the Calendula with the water droplets is just my kind of thing too.

  4. And you have had some rain to keep your lovely garden happy and giving such beautiful fall color, or rather extended summer color. Your pictures will keep you in good company through the winter as you plan next year's garden.

  6. How exciting to have your lupine bloom! It is very pretty :)I love the idea of using the tri-pod for the morning glory. Adds great height and feature to the snapdragon garden. Happy GBBD!

  10. You've got such a lot of colour still in your garden. My garden has all but given up at this time of year. I keep saying that I'll rectify it for the following year, but it never happens and I'm left without any colour again.

  11. Mark, yes I do really like all shades of pink. Actually I like all colours. I used to cringe at orange flowers but over the years nasturtium and crocosmia have really grown on me. I have a mix of all colours in the garden... a bit like a 'scrap quilt' really.

I had to correct my comment on my lupin. The lupin was grown last year and the photo is its 2nd year growth. For some reason I was thinking delphinium when I posted (I grew delphinium from seed this year and they bloomed this summer, not the lupin).
