July was a warm, sunny month for us in Northern Ireland and the flowers have enjoyed the unexpected long periods of good weather. During July the average high temperature was 22C / 72F - might not sound that warm to those living in other countries but for Ireland it's really great weather (we don't have the need for air conditioning).
Looking over my photos for July, I thought I'd share some of my best flower photos for the month. Many of these plants are still in flower - roses, petunias, etc are great for their long flowering periods.

Beautiful flowers, and so healthy. Mine would be at least have one or 2 holes from grasshoppers. If any of them were blooming still. :D
ReplyDeleteA question...maybe a stupid one but Dog rose - that is the rose that later makes rosehips we use in tea??
In my country every plant that makes rose hips is called "šipak" and this one has the same flowers so I'm wondering if it is the same one :D :D
Hi Leanan, The dog rose does make rose hips. I imagine it's the same plant as you have in your country.

ReplyDeleteLovely colourful summer flowers. Nice to see that you grow many of your plants from seed too. We don't have a nice warm summer, but it is unusually hot, over 35 degr.c. today!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms and I love the way you have them arranged in fours in like colors. Good photos and a clever way to show them. The delphinium did really well from seeds, as did you other plants. Wish I could grow so many from seed!

ReplyDeleteOur family's favorite flowers in are garden are the Aquilegia (columbine) yours are so beautiful. After a year or two here ours all cross and turn Yellow...such beautiful flowers very enjoyable thanks...
